Everything you need to know about PayCentral

Who is PayCentral?

PayCentral is a payment orchestrator helping businesses simplify their payment processes, from employee rewards and expense management to custom card and software solutions. No. PayCentral prepaid cards work independently of a bank account, making them ideal for salary payments and wage disbursements to unbanked or informal workers, securely and without cash.

To assign a card, certain information is required for FICA purposes. For products with a R25,000 load limit, this typically includes a name, surname, cell phone number, and South African ID or valid work permit.

This allows businesses to onboard workers quickly while still meeting the necessary regulatory requirements.

PayCentral works alongside your existing banking relationships, allowing you to fund, manage, and track payment processes through one centralised platform without disrupting your current payroll systems or banking setup. Businesses can continue banking with their preferred financial institution, as PayCentral does not require a separate bank account or a change to existing banking arrangements.

Unlike banks or traditional payment providers, PayCentral is built specifically for how businesses manage payments internally. We focus on the full picture: salary payments, employee incentives, expense management, and spend control, all from one platform.

PayCentral supports businesses across a wide range of South African industries, from agriculture and logistics to retail, hospitality, and financial services. Whether you need to manage business expenses, run employee incentives, or simplify salary payments for large or distributed teams, PayCentral has a card solution to match.

Yes. Businesses control how funds are distributed by loading only the amounts needed onto each card, either individually or in bulk. Each card can receive a different value depending on the payment requirement.

Card functionality, such as ATM access, PIN transactions, and e-commerce capability, is determined by the card product selected. Additional merchant filtering and spend controls may also be available through specialised card programmes.

Yes. PayCentral operates within South Africa’s regulated payment environment and works with licensed banking partners and Mastercard to ensure your business payment processes are secure and compliant.

Most businesses are set up and issuing prepaid or virtual cards within a few business days. Our onboarding team guides you through every step, from submitting documentation to placing your first card order.
